A Fashion Editor´s Mini-Guide To Stockholm Fashion Week: Day 1

Stockholm Fashion Week is now sadly over and we are already looking forward till next season! But here you have our Fashion Week recap from this seasons experience. With plenty of pictures covering the events, reviews of the different presentations and the backstage experience of SFW. So from me to you, the first part of three articles, covering Stockholm Fashion Week.

[AdSense-A] 10-11.00 o’clock @ Rutaberg – How to take better pictures with the professional photographer Jonas Borg

Fashion Week Stockholm

The week started out in the best possible way, with a fabulous breakfast conference at Rutaberg. The professional photographer Jonas Borg held a presentation on how to take great photographs during Fashion Week and gave us plenty of great tips and tricks. In addition were we given Panasonic Lumix cameras to borrow during FW. Short said, the perfect start of the perfect week!

Stockholm Fashion Week

13.00 o’clock @ Spegelsalen, Grand Hôtel Stockholm – Whyred

The first show on the schedule was Whyred, which opened Fashion Week with their chic collection shown in “Spegelsalen”. They showed a collection with a strong color palette, eye-catching details and with a fun vibe. Whyred definitely delivered a show with a lot of great runway moments, so to say – this was one of my absolute favorites!

14.00 o’clock @ Bolinderska Rummet, Grand Hôtel Stockholm – Stylein

Next was Stylein’s show, which was presented in “Bolinderska rummet”. They showed a collection with a neutral and calm color palette, but without it being boring. Almost every piece which came down the runway I could see myself wearing, it was TO DIE FOR! I especially love the long silk dresses, WOW!

16.00 o’clock @ Spegelsalen, Grand Hôtel Stockholm – By Malina

After a short break, when we got our hair and makeup freshened up in the press lounge it was time for By Malina. Though they showed some really beautiful garments, the collection was in my opinion not cohesive. But it was a fun show, with happy cheerful models who strolled down the runway to the music.

In between the shows – Street Style and Lunch at Terassen

After By Malina it was time for a lunch break at Grand’s “Terassen”. We had some snacks, chatted and had a good time just relaxing and reloading our batteries before the evening presentations. And of course we took the opportunity to take som great Street Style photos of the outfits of the day.

19.00 o’clock @ Svenskt Tenn, Strandvägen 5 – ATP Atelier

At seven o’clock all the fashionistas and press got together at Svenskt Tenn, an interior design-shop located in the centre of Stockholm. They served strawberries and champagne and we all had a fabulous time mingling around in the shop. After a while they opened the doors to a secluded area where they’ve put up the presentation. That ATP is one of Swedens most current and chicest accessory brands is the least you can say. I think it was a fantastic idea to present this falls collection the way they did – in a very chic decorated environment with acting models. I LOVED IT!

20.00 o’clock @ Spegelsalen, Grand Hôtel Stockholm – Naim Josefi

The last show of the day was held by Naim Josefi, the Project Runway Sweden winner of 2012. On his runway we saw a lot of stripes, pleating and colorful hand painting on the model’s skin. And we must not forget about the insane sunglasses, perfect statement sunglasses for beach 2018? I would say it was a fun, mixed collection with both a lot of wearable pieces and some more avantgarde looks.

After the shows – Berns asiatiska

After the shows we decided to end the night at “Berns asiatiska”, a great restaurant with tasteful asian food. If you’re looking for a place to grab a bite to eat in Stockholm I could definitely recommend “Berns asiatiska”. They do not only serve great food, but the environment is also decorated very elegantly. It is definitely an Instagram-friendly restaurant and bar! Therefore it was a perfect ending to an extraordinary first day of Stockholm Fashion week. Because what better way is it to end a day than with your friends and tasty food?
